About the event

Do you have deliciously creative ideas but are slowed down by self-doubt? Do the "shoulds" in your head get a little loud when you pursue an unconvention work/creation schedule? Do you feel alone on an island as you pursue your creative projects? Or, maybe you feel far away from your creativity and want to reconnect with play?

Join us for an virtual container to reconnect with and feed your creative self. During this six-week series, we'll use Julia Cameron's The Artist Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity as an anchor text to explore our own "artist's rituals." Cameron is famous for sharing the idea of "Morning Pages," and while we'll talk about the principles about this practice - no requirements to begin a specific practice or promise to produce a specific thing will be made. This is about your individual artistic path and the practices that support creativity - your way!

Each session will include a movement & meditation practice related to a theme in the text, time for journaling, space to share your revelations (book club style), and weekly self-care invitations (not required). You'll get a pdf copy of Cameron's text, but are welcome to purchase a physical book as well.

This series is designed to amplify joy daily and explore what creative living means to you. This is a non-judgement container for creatives to gather and reflect on self-care & study study practices that support you in expressing from your most authentic place.

Meet the Teacher

Elizabeth Bogart is a Kundalini Yoga & Meditation teacher, Reiki practitioner, and founder of HEARTWORK. She's been told by her mom that she's been story-boarding since she was a little girl. Once upon a time, she was a Special Education and High School English Teacher. This early career taught her to honor different learning and working styles, and had her falling in love with the brain's many pathways of processing and expressing information. There is no one way to do or be ANYTHING! She now weaves together movement, meditation, and journaling in most of her event offerings. Always with the ultimate goal for participants to clear the "static" of life away and re-meet themselves (re-meet their essence), and feel safe to express it. She is certified in Vinyasa Yoga, Kids & Family Yoga, Khalsa Way Prenatal, Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, & Reiki - Level 2

This is the first time this series is offered in Chicago, and she's specifically designed this experience to combat the "Winter Blues" and isolation.
